Online petition: Steve, please do something!

To: Steve Jobs, CEO, Apple

Dear Steve,

The time has come that we, the Apple-Mac users in Greece, call upon your help and ask for Apple’s attention.

In an attempt to stimulate the interest of those responsible for the ongoing, unacceptable situation in Greece in regard to Apple products and service, the “wewantAppleGreece.com” has been created by Greek Mac users.
We, the clients and end consumers of apple products, have long been left out of every new Apple development taking place in the rest of the EU. The service and support provided by several companies in our country do not follow even the basic standards set by Apple companies worldwide.
It is extremely important for one to realize that the percentage of the Mac platform in Greece today is much higher than that presented by the incomplete Greek IMC statistics which left out details of other Mac independent importers, sales from Europe, USA, etc. Despite the bad service and lack of support in our country, we still have a surprising high - and growing! - number of Mac users.
We are faced with closed doors at the local IMC, however with the immense effort of Mac users across the country, local Mac communities have been set up to provide support and to promote Apple products within our country.
We stand united in our quest for a competitive Apple products market, as well as real help, support and service for these products, set at the same high standards as the rest of the EU.

Mac users in Greece have come together to sign this petition and call for Apple Inc. and your help to set up Apple Greece, or even better “Apple Hellas”.

Steve, please do something!

We thank you for your time and eagerly anticipate your reply.
The Greek Mac users and friends.

Sincerely,
The Undersigned

All the above text is our online petition “Steve, please do something!”. The petition was uploaded on 27th of October, 2006 and it is still accessible here; no reply from Apple Inc. until now.

Come on now!!...the situation with Rainbow is ridiculous at best!!!…
Their business approach(if there IS any...) hurts both us(Consumers) and Apple...seems like they don’t give a damn as long as the rely on people’s misconseption about all apple products.
..like, when OS 10 was out, they said:"Oh ....!Now we have to catch up too...?”
You get into one of those “Demo Stores” they have and you can NOT buy a single thing!...Do you know how much it would cost you for a normal wired Mighty Mouse?...here!..€60 from the nearest reseller!!...the wired one!!
..And all...in a country where dispite the low wages, people still spend BIG money on crappy mobile phones, useless mp3 players and big boxy and noisy PCs…
We believe Apple products and Support are superior!
You should show them to the rest of the 10millions of us…
WE WANT APPLE GREECE SOON!!

We deserve something better than Rainbow, cmon!

It is probably about time that Greek mac users are treated like they deserve. Rainbow has to die.

Kindly end our uneccessary PC nightmare by providing an up-to-date (new machines get here 6 months later than the rest of the world) and resposible reseller.

Thankking you in advance

When I was in Greece recently, where I’m planning to do research, someone admired my 12 inch G4 Powerbook and asked me to find out how she could buy a mac laptop. I promised to research it and get back to her on my next trip - I found this web site and, alas, I’m going to have to tell her that in the current state of affairs she’d best avoid buying a Mac. I hope my Mac never needs servicing while I’m in Greece. HL

+ 1 To that one. Rainbow Computers is SO obsolete in the way they work.

Rainbow makes more damage than good for Apple Computers.

Please consider making Apple Greece seriously.

All designers want apple Greece.

Its about time a serious effort is made.

Please treat your customers equally. All customers are important after all !!!!!!!

As far as I can remember myself as a child I always had someone (a friend, mentor etc) to tell me that Macintosh is the perfect choice if you want a powerful and reliable computer. Almost all my friend had one or wanted to obtain one.

The only thing they were afraid was the unprofessional IMC in Greece. No expertise or knowledge they were saying and I came to realize it when I finally worked in the IT industry and had to meet people working for Rainbow.

Also when I was a student in the UK I wanted to obtain a laptop. Although a Powerbook was the perfect solution for me (creating Java application and Websites) I wasn’t able to purchase it. The only reason for that is that when I was going to come back in Greece Rainbow wouldn’t support it because it would have been purchased outside Greece!!!!

For God’s sake doesn’t Apple want to increase it’s market share in Greece??
More Greek Apple customers mean more Revenue for Apple meaning more profit for Apple.

Just think of it….

It’s about time to make apple Greece, if you want to buy today an apple product you will have to wait a month at least!!!!! no support of iphoto products etc etc that’s why everyone is using stupid pc’s they have no option at all.

Steve, please do something!
